How to string your bow

How to string your bow using end to end stringer

1. The bow string should have one loop slightly larger than the other. Loop the larger loop of the bow string completely over the top limb tip and slide approximately 1/4 of the way down the limb.

2. Then fit the bottom string loop over the bottom limb tip so it fits snuggly around the limb tip and in the groove.

3. Once you have done this, get your end to end stringer and again there should be a small pocket at one end and a larger pocket at the other

4. Firstly put the small pocket onto the top limb

5. Then put the larger pocket onto the bottom limb (the stringer should be on the same side as the string)

6. Holding onto the riser – so the bow is facing upward – stand on the bow stringer about a shoulders width apart.

7. Pull up the riser with one hand and with the other hand slide the large loop down the limp and onto the limb tip fitting it snuggly into the groves

8. Once you’re happy that the string is on the bow properly you can let the riser down and remove the stringer from the bow.

How to string your bow using a saddle stringer

3. Take your saddle stringer - you’ll notice there is a saddle end and a pocket end – slide the saddle end over the top limb about half way down the limb (past the string loop) and place the pocket end over the bottom limb.

4. Holding the riser – bow facing up – in one hand, stand about a shoulders width apart on the stringer and push the saddle of the stringer about 2/3 up the limb.

5. Pull up on the riser and slide the big loop up the limb and into the grooves on the limb tip.

6. Once you’re happy that the string is on the bow properly you can let down the riser and remove the stringer from the bow.
